Grounded Sound

Come home to your body, track your creative instincts & lean deeper into trust as you share more of yourself with the world

Next Workshop TBA

My intention for this space is permission.

Permission to slow down, soften and tune in to the subtleties of your body, mind and voice.

Permission to play and explore the full range of your expression.

Permission to be witnessed and held as you discover your personal edge and stretch into more space.

What can I expect from this workshop?

This innovative workshop is a practice in moving through fear and into trust so that you can show up authentically in your life and artistic expression. There will be a focus on voice throughout the exercises as this is my area of artistic experience.

The activities involve gentle embodiment practices, written and meditative practices for catharsis (moving through mental / singing blocks), improvisation games with a vocal focus and group vocal jamming.

The activities are designed to drop you into a state of embodied play and connection, to awaken a deeper trust in yourself as a creative instrument and to grow your confidence in sharing your voice / ideas.

Who is it for?

This workshop is for those who are ready to step out of hiding, the ones who wish to claim more of their authentic expression, take up more space, share with more honesty in their art and connect to something bigger than themselves.

It benefits both aspiring and professional performers in theatre and music disciplines. It is also highly beneficial for those living with high functioning anxiety or other states which manifest as mind-body dissociation and/or interpersonal disconnection.

What will I gain?

In addition to introducing you to the joy of group singing and group play, this workshop aims to cultivate skills in the following areas:

  • Regulating the nervous system (performance anxiety)

  • Maintaining focus

  • Releasing doubt & allowing creative flow

  • Improvising (meeting the opportunities that exist in each moment)

  • Accessing authenticity in performance

  • Deeply listening (to self and others)

  • Improving mind-body-voice awareness

Since attending the workshop, I’ve been paying more attention to how and when my inspiration manifests, and I’m noticing more the efforts of staying truly myself.”

— Ann Marie, Workshop Participant
